Melonball - eup•nea CD EP (Lockjaw Records, Thousand Islands Records)
German melodic punk rockers Melonball released their album “Breathe” last year as a crown of their dedicated work and effort. Before their debut, the band also unleashed recordings such as “Sicker” EP in the same year, while in 2022, they published several excellent standalone singles like “Whatever,” “Sinking,” and “Fast Forward.” As you can see, Melonball keeps its activities prolific as much…

ANIMAL SHITHOUSE NEW EP ‘WHO TAUGHT YOU TO HATE?’ TO BE RELEASED DECEMBER 1st
For a musical scene to flourish, it needs a central meeting point for like minded people to gather and exchange ideas. Whether it’s Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s Sex Shop on the King’s Road for the fledgling Sex Pistols, or Black Flag’s ‘The Church’, the Hermosa Beach hub for the West Coast’s early punk rock scene, every musical movement or local scene worth its salt has a focus…

UK Pop Punk Trio Rasin Awareness Drop Debut Single, 'Never Ending Story'
Raisin Awareness, the UK’s newest pop-punk band, has released its debut single, ‘Never Ending Story’ via Lockjaw Records. In the words of Jo D, the band’s lead vocalist, and guitarist, “When you actually sit down and think about how fucked the world is and that you’re part of that mess, it can feel overwhelming. Some of us have gotten very good at justifying our actions due to their convenience,…

Fnaf Movie But Ness, Vanessa, Cory, Max, and Mike are all just in one big friend group and call themselves the “Fazgang”
‼️Important info‼️: okay so I’ve been thinking about this idea for an AU and stuff where Cory, ness, max, Vanessa, and Mike are all in a silly little friend group and they call themselves the “Fazgang” and they just hang out and stuff. So have some fact, headcanons, and info dump about this hc/AU cause I love it. I ship Vanessa x Max and SecurityWaiter so be prepared for those to be sprinkled in. (I ask that you credit me if you draw or use this AU pls :))) /nf )
Also petition to make Vanessa x max a ship and Call it “LockJaw” (for obvious reasons)
I imagine they all met someway through Mike. Mike introduced Vanessa to Max since him and max have been friends for a while, then Mike meets Ness because him and Abby become regulars at Sparkys and he eventually invites him to hang out with him, Vanessa, and max and the 4 just don’t stop hanging out. Then they one night decide to take a taxi to the place they are going to and Cory is their driver, and nobody really knows how but by the end of the ride they’ve all exchanged numbers with Cory and the 5 make plans to start hanging out.
ness is the tallest out of them all being 5”11 and whenever they are walking with each other down the street his head just sorta peaks over everyone.
the gang will usually hang out and play video games, and If Ness convinces them, they’ll read over random creepypasta stories and urban legends on online forums.
the group has a group chat where they all text each other during work or when they are bored.
Cory tends to rant about the weirdos he has to drive around with ness while ness rants about the rude customers he has to deal with.
Max enjoys writing and wants to be a romance author. She works at a library so she can read the romance books on her breaks.
ness gives the gang a discount whenever they stop in to sparkys and calls it a “personal friend discount” (he technically isn’t allowed to give them a discount but his boss will never know)
The group loves Halloween and they usually dress up and walk around their town to crash any party’s, parades, or to just take Abby trick or treating.
ness convinced the gang to create an online ARG with him with “found footage” recordings and everything but he eventually forgot about it and a large community started to surround it thinking it was real and he ended up having to apologize for it like 10 years later.
ness has a online conspiracy theory forum where he discusses his theory’s, the gang follows it and boosts his posts for him.
the gang likes to go to scary houses during Halloween and they each react very differently. Ness tends to grab at people (usually Mike) to steady himself when scared, Cory is prone to screaming loudly but also charging at the actors (they’ve almost gotten kicked out before because of this), max has a very slow reaction time and tends to just freeze up or swear under her breath when an actor jump-scares her, Vanessa doesn’t react at all (literally, she just doesn’t get scared by that type of stuff), and Mike just acts how any normal person would (or he tries to run off).
ness is gay, Vanessa and Mike are both bi, max is a lesbian, and Cory is straight.
since none of them are close to their families (except for Cory) the group hangs out together during holidays like Christmas. Cory usually visits his family for Christmas and holidays but on years where he can’t visit he’ll spend time with them.
cory made them all each a driving Mixtape for their birthdays.
they each have very differing music tastes. Ness preferring musical music, max prefers old love songs, Cory prefers 90’s hip hop, Vanessa likes alternative rock, and Mike enjoys any type of 90-2000s grunge rock and emo music. (Mike definitely listens to the smiths, the cure, and Alex G)
The gang ate over at Vanessa’s one night and the 5 tried to make dinner but failed and made a mess of her kitchen (they ordered takeout and spent the rest of the night listening to music and cleaning up Vanessa’s kitchen.)
Mike sometimes leaves Abby to be babysat by the gang while he’s off working and he once came back to them all dressed up with glitter makeup having a tea party with Abby (she forced them to do this)
In this AU Max does not die but Vanessa and Mike never tell Cory, Ness, or max all of the extra details. They know the robots are haunted to some capacity but not about Vanessa’s involvement or any specific details.
(This is not canon to the au, just a “what if” scenario) if max were to still die in this AU, Vanessa and Mike would not tell Cory and Ness what happened, out of concern for the twos genuine well being and because of how absurd it seems.
all of them visited Freddys some time in their childhood
Max and Vanessa have a fear of mascot outfits
Ness wanted to do a “paranormal investigation” at Freddy’s for theorizing and emailed the owner several times for about 2 months leading up to the events of the movie (he also begged Mike to sneak him in during his working nights but Mike said no cause he didn’t want to get fired).
cory called them the “Fazgang” once as a joke and it kinda just stuck, now that’s what they and everyone who knows about their group refers to them as.
when Cory and the group went for a drive in his taxi they went on a back road and ended up breaking down in the middle of a dirt road in the woods. (They just finished a movie marathon where they watched the texas chainsaw massacre and Wrong Turn 1, so now half of them refuse to leave the car.)
Abby slept through the entire situation.
Lots of trauma, it’s like a group therapy session 24/7.
all of them get along with Abby, she actually gets excited whenever they hang out (since Mike takes her with him due to not wanting to leave her home alone by herself).
They all share a single braincell.
Ness and max are both 25, Mike is 26, Cory is the youngest at 24, and Vanessa is the oldest being 26 as well but older by a month.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Desi Arnaz, Benedict of Nursia, Moe Berg, Ed Bournemann, Dale Bozzio, Larry Carlton, Karen Carpenter, John Cowsill, Daniel Craig, John Cullum, Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Maxwell Street, Jimmy Davis, Becky G, Rory Gallagher, John Gardner, Mikhail Gorbachev, Laird Hamilton, Sam Houston, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Irving, Jennifer Jones, Léon Jongen, Jon Bon Jovi, Orrin Keepnews, the 1933 film KING KONG, Papa Lightfoot, BarBara Luna, Madonna’s 1989 single “Like a Prayer,” Chris Martin, Gates McFadden, drummer-producer Tony Meehan (The Shadows), Method Man, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Lauraine Newman, Jay Osmond, Ethan Peck, Elvis Presley’s 1956 single “Lawdy Miss Clawdy,” Luke Pritchard (The Kooks), Dottie Rambo, Red Saunders, Dennis Seaton (Musical Youth), Shostakovich’s 14th Symphony (1969), Bedřich Smetana, the 1995 musical SMOKY JOE’S CAFÉ, Ludovico Spontoni, the 1965 film SOUND OF MUSIC, composer-trumpeter Derek Watkins (James Bond films), Kurt Weill, Tom Wolfe, "Théo" Ysaÿe, and the creative provocateur, poet, and singer-songwriter Lou Reed. He was the principal songwriter for The Velvet Underground and his solo career spanned 5 decades.
Velvet Underground were not commercially successful but are now regarded as one of the most influential bands in the history of rock. Brian Eno said that everyone who heard the first VU album wanted to start a band. Reed had a deadpan voice that, for me, required forgiveness as singers go (though he did step up on occasion, particularly when he sung with The Blind Boys on THE RAVEN album). Eventually I connected with his noir fiction, transgressive “eyewitness reporting” lyrics and songcraft. He neither approved or disapproved of the subjects he sang about and, in the end, he just wanted to write catchy rock’n’roll. Over the years I’ve performed at least 6 Reed/VU songs—recording 2: “What Goes On” and “Sunday Morning,” on which I was joined by members of The Badlees (who did a splendid job in one afternoon). Reed himself commended our cover and promoted it on his website in the mid-90s. HB and RIP Lou.

Gosh, these all hit me with so much dopamine. I'm pretty sure I've used a few myself. It's hard to pick one. Perhaps #15? Some trash trio tomfoolery? The victim being you-know-who?
"This, uh...this is gonna hurt, okay?"
His head whipped up from where he'd been looking at the blood-spattered ground, and through a lockjaw grimace of pain managed to hiss, "Oh yeah?! Oh yeah, Josh?! Is it gonna fucking hurt?!"
Ashley was already crouching, wiggling her fingers before tentatively taking hold of her side of the trap. "On three. Not, like, one-two-three-go, but just three. One-two-three. Okay?"
"Yeah, I...yeah, okay."
The only one who didn't get a say in this particular arrangement, Chris screwed his eyes shut, dug his nails into his palms, and waited for their count.
"One...twooo...three."
The trap squealed like a wounded animal as they prised it open, and while Chris's plan had been to simply pull his skewered foot out of it, the shock of that sudden sound had him stumbling instead, falling flat on his ass on the grass between them. If there was any silver lining to the situation, any silver lining at all, it was that he had, in fact, gotten out of the bear trap.
He was having difficulty pinpointing any others.
"Fuck," he breathed, fighting twin impulses - to both touch his ankle and to keep everyone and everything as far from it as possible. The result was a shrimpish hunching of his back as he tried to curl in around himself, bracing against wave after wave of stinging agony. "Who even...why...this is a fucking summer camp! For children!"
Ashley shushed him, her eyes huge as she scanned the clearing around them, and if he hadn't been so busy trying to chew a hole through the inside of his cheek, he might've snapped at her too.
"Yeah, see - you guys thought my shit back in Blackwood was bad," Josh muttered, following the hushed voice rule and therefore receiving no shush of his own. "At least I didn't rig this kinda shit up..."
"There weren't werewolves in Blackwood," Ashley hissed. Already she was turning again, rummaging through the messenger bag she'd had slung over her shoulder all night. Her eyes kept moving between her stuff and the shredded flesh of Chris's ankle, and he swore he could feel each glance she shot him like the bite of a bullet ant.
"Is that really the argument you're going with? There weren't werewolves, so clearly there couldn't be shitty traps? Because, pardon me, I did get pretty shaken up that night so maybe I'm not remembering things right, but I do seem to recall there being...something terrifying up on that glorious mountain..."
"You're not helping!"
Barely able to see them through the tears welling in his eyes, Chris snapped back, "Neither of you are helping!"
"The tone, Cochise. The tone. Y'know, I hate to be this guy, but first there's the whole mess with your knee...now this...your track record with monster hunters is just not ideal, man."
"This still isn't helping!"
"Yeah, well, I'm just saying," Josh muttered, glancing over his shoulder as Ashley finally - finally - found something that might work as a bandage. "Maybe we should stop and ask the glaring question: Are you the problem here?"
"Josh!"
"It's a legitimate concern."

Tootie Heath Plays "Night In Tunisia" W/ Emmet Cohen
REMEMBERING ALBERT “TOOTIE” HEATH MAY 31, 1935 – APRIL 3, 2024
A TRIBUTE TO THE SWINGING DRUMMER Drummer Albert “Tootie” Heath passed away on April 3, 2024 at the age of 88.
He was born in Philadelphia on May 31, 1935, the younger brother of bassist Percy Heath and saxophonist-arranger-composer Jimmy Heath.
Growing up in a very musical family, Heath gained important experience playing locally and with his brothers.
When he came to New York in 1957, his recording debut was with John Coltrane.
Heath was in great demand throughout his career, and among the more than 250 jazz sessions that he appeared on were albums led by Jimmy Heath, Nina Simone (including her hit version of “I Loves You Porgy”), J.J. Johnson, Cannonball Adderley, Johnny Griffin, Wes Montgomery, the Jazztet, Art Farmer, Benny Golson, Clifford Jordan, Bobby Timmons, Milt Jackson, Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Herbie Hancock, Yusef Lateef, Joe Pass, Roberta Gambarini, and even Anthony Braxton and Roscoe Mitchell.
Tootie teamed up with his siblings as the Heath Brothers starting in the mid-1970s, after Connie Kay’s passing he was the last drummer with the Modern Jazz Quartet, and he led five albums of his own.
A very reliable and swinging drummer who was quite versatile, Albert “Tootie” Heath was a strong asset in every group in which he appeared.
Here is Albert “Tootie” Heath being showcased in 2023 with pianist Emmet Cohen and bassist Russell Hall on a rather unusual version of “A Night In Tunisia.”

Penelope spirited through old furniture fires on 10th street eulogies; the last chords of summer mixtapes unfurled and degraded to the point of abstraction.
Gabriel thought it was somewhere around one in the morning the 4-track rattled his sinuses and he was caught gasoline-breath for his neighbors pounding on the wall.
I’d like to leave these two here, all junkie heavens with tattered notebooks, guitars strewn about a racket for recording halls teeth numb and rambling.
This, a narrative of early twenties gathered in substance effigies, a handful of unfinished songs and albums, directionless. Someone pick up the check.
I guess what I mean to say is: we pulled the light bulbs for pockets and mouthful, a grin so wide we were lockjaw. I’m done romanticizing our vagrancy.
I’ll be honest, I miss them, but their penniless crescendos for rafters isn’t cognizance. It’s hands are spectral metaphysics wrapped tightly ‘round ventricles.

Shirley Scott (March 14, 1934 – March 10, 2002) was a jazz organist. Born in Philadelphia, she studied trumpet and piano in school. As a performer in the 1950s, she played the Hammond B-3 organ. Her recordings with Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis included the hit "In the Kitchen". Influenced by gospel and blues, she played soul jazz in the 1960s with Stanley Turrentine. Although organ trios declined in popularity during the 1970s, they resurged in the 1980s and she recorded again. In the 1990s, she recorded as a pianist in a trio and performed at venues in Philadelphia. She was a jazz educator. The New York Times Magazine listed her among hundreds of artists whose material was reportedly destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #womenhistorymonth https://www.instagram.com/p/CpxJQVXLFsZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

A little bit about Masa:
Became a best selling author at the age of 17, and has kept an anonymous relationship with the public/press as ‘Kuro’ ever since. His personality seen as very sour and rude in interviews and recordings, but his works are known to be a marvel. His best seller throughout the Years has been [[Icebound]], even gaining an award winning movie adaptation.
Black has gone through 13 editors thus far due to his uncanny attitude and uncooperating nature in deadlines. He has been perceived as a shut in, at least in the public’s eyes; but that could be further than the truth, as he tends to go out and do as he wishes without the fear of being recognized.
Being already 24 when his 13th editor quits, the Author comes off as very carefree and tired. But the company he works under makes exceptions for him, perhaps due to the amount of money he rakes in yearly.

Pretty sure Lockjaw is not rabies. Lockjaw is a condition caused by tetanus, a neurotoxin released by clostridium tetani. Tetanus essentially hits neuroreceptors on your muscles, causing spasms (simplified explanation). Which is to say it locks down your muscles making it impossible to open your mouth or move your neck. Hence, “lockjaw.” Unlike rabies, it is treatable.
Based on the CDC’s website, it looks like tetanus can cause seizures (which is news to me), but it’s mostly related to causing muscle cramps to bad that swallowing becomes impossible. Nevertheless, I can see that there is a bit of symptomatic overlap between the two conditions. Also, it looks like the cramps can be bad enough to fracture your bones (like whooping cough). The good news is that tetanus is vaccinated for and is a routine vaccination (it’s “T” in the DT or DTaP on your vaccine record) and it is (again) treatable.
Rabies is worse in my opinion, but I consider any disease that results in the strangulation of the brain and neural tissue to be worse. Also the only thing you can do to save yourself from rabies is vaccinate. If you contract rabies, that’s it. There are very few cases of people surviving (5 known people).
Get your pets vaccinated, because if they get rabies, they have to be put down. It’s not a choice. There are no alternatives or options. Rabies will kill your pet and putting them down is the merciful option.
If you are bit by a wild animal or a bat gets into your house, get vaccinated. Rabies is not a routine vaccine, it’s one you get immediately after exposure. You should get it immediately, because if you fail to do that and the virus is able to get a foothold, it will kill your brain.
Cartoons messed people up on what rabies looks like. Ppl think of a rabid animal and assume it's always snarling and frothing at the mouth and ready to attack. Rabid animals can appear really friendly because they lose human fear and they might approach you supposedly looking for food. It might look like a deer stumbling in circles and limping and falling over as if it's injured and disoriented. Might looks like a fox repeatedly trying and failing to stumble to its feet and unable to pick its head up. Their brains are melting. They might seem angry but they might also seem confused or injured or in need. But if you try to help that injured crying fox you could end up getting bit by an animal that's basically already dead and then your brain will melt too
